Giving you visibility. When someone is a great performer, it's an amazing accomplishment, but it becomes meaningless if they have no way of working with others to show their strengths, or the visibility to network and meet others across an organization to work on new projects that can build their experience and knowledge.
It's important you have a manager that sees your talent. And if they don't, remind them. No matter the industry, it's important they see your value and can offer you the exposure you need in order to grow and build a reputation and speaking the same when they speak to others about you.
